Why an Adult Day Center?
Adult Day Services provides an organized program in a community group setting to promote social, physical and emotional well being. These programs offer a variety of activities designed to meet the needs and interests of each older adult who receives care. With more than 7,500 Adult Day Services centers across the United States, Adult Day Services and adult day health care are a growing source of long-term care.
When older adults need extra support to live at home, family members often step in to help prepare meals, check medications, and provide companionship. Still, some people need more care during the day than family or a hired caregiver can provide.
One option to explore is an adult day center, also commonly called adult day care. Adult day care provides a safe and supportive environment for older adults, and these facilities give caregivers some much-needed time off. This can be a great solution for older adults over the age of 18 that need a bit of extra support but want to maintain independence at home.
